AVAILABILITY & BOOKING

  • Have you photographed at our venue before?

There are SO MANY wedding venues these days; it’s impossible that any photographer can have photographed at them all – there is always a first time! However, this is absolutely not an issue and not something you should be concerned about – we will always do a recce ahead of your wedding at any venue which is new to us and if that isn’t possible we have the experience to quickly be able to make the most of any given location.

  • Do you travel anywhere in the UK?

Yes we do – from the south coast to the remote Scottish islands – we love to photograph weddings throughout our beautiful country. Please get in touch for more information!

  • Do you cover overseas destination weddings?

If your wedding is overseas, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

  • Can we pay for just one photographer?

We want to ensure you get the best out of your day and our reputation is built upon the fact that we are a two-photographer team. Therefore, we do not offer a price reduction for booking one photographer.

  • Do you ever offer discounts?

We don’t offer discounts. We believe our prices already represent excellent value for the high level of service we give, the quality of our products, our skill and experience and that you always get two of us, without an additional second photographer fee.

  • How do we book?

To reserve your date and confirm your booking, we simply have three steps: a booking fee of £300, a signed contract, and completion of a booking form – that’s it! We work on a first come, first served basis for bookings and our diary fills up quickly for popular times of the year, so if you really want us to photograph your wedding, don’t wait too long! A booking is not confirmed until a deposit and signed contract are received.

On the day

  • How much time will you spend at our wedding?

The choice is yours. Evans & Evans Photography offers three Collections (which include a beautiful wedding album) to suit your budget, or digital only package options – full details are available via enquiring and we’re very happy to talk through any aspects of this or any special requests you might have. Generally, most of our couples choose our Signature Collection or Digital Luxe package, which include full morning to evening coverage of your wedding day.

  • How do you work on the day?

At most weddings, we’ll be starting the day with you for your morning preparations and be with you into the evening. Leanie will join the bride and her bridesmaids in the morning to capture their preparations, and Pete will be with the groom and his groomsmen (usually a little later in the morning as they don’t take as long!). Pete will arrive at the ceremony venue with the men, photographing the moments before the bride’s arrival, and Leanie will be following the bride and her bridal party. Obviously, then we’ll both be there at the ceremony, capturing your wedding both from the front and the back of the room. Throughout the day, we’ll be working as unobtrusively as possible, capturing the day as it naturally unfolds – the only time we will actively ‘engage’ you or your guests is to photograph the family and group photos you’ve requested, and for your couple portraits. We believe in keeping things as natural as possible.

  • Do we need to feed you?

Yes please :) It’s a very long day for us – we’re active and on our feet from morning to night and it’s not practical to bring our own food. So a hot meal really is very much appreciated! We’ll find a quiet area to eat, away from your guests, during your wedding breakfast – guests don’t like to be photographed while eating so this is the ideal time for us to take a break. All we ask is that we are fed at the same time as your top table so that we can ensure we’re finished in time to get back to photographing your speeches.

  • Do you have backup equipment?

Each of us uses two cameras on a wedding day, plus we’ll have a spare in case of any issues – with five cameras and a variety of lenses, we have plenty of backup!

  • Do you take formal shots?

We will take any specific shots that you request. All we ask is that you prepare a list and nominate someone on the day to assist with getting those groups of people together. As time can be short and we don't know your guests, this helps to keep things moving and ensure we capture all the shots you request. It's also helpful for us to be aware of any family sensitivities so that we can avoid situations during group shots where people might feel uncomfortable.

  • How much time should we allocate for our photographs?

This depends greatly on whether you want a selection of formal shots and, if so, the number of groups you would like us to include. We would certainly advise you to allow time for us to photograph the two of you alone after the ceremony while your guests enjoy a drink or two. If possible, we like to be able to spend 30-45 minutes photographing the two of you on your own - after all, this day is all about you! Depending on the time of year, we’ll often break this into two sessions – one in the afternoon and one in the evening around sunset. We’ll go through all this in detail with you in the run up to your wedding day, and give you as much guidance as possible.

  • What if it rains?

Ah, the great British weather... the one thing you can't plan for on your wedding day, even in the height of summer. That's why we'd strongly advise you to consider the indoor potential of your chosen venue, as well as the outdoor space. Ask yourself, is there room for group shots inside? Are there aesthetically pleasing spaces for your couple portraits? We have faced the challenges of working with bad weather many times and will ensure that we do everything we can to make sure you still have fantastic photos, but the venue itself does play a big part in how far we can mitigate the issue of bad weather.

After the wedding

  • How soon can we see our images?

Editing and post-production of your images is a very time-consuming task and takes several times longer than actually taking the photographs themselves. We will have literally hundreds of images to process, and the typical turnaround time for this is usually around 8 weeks, although this may extend to 8-12 weeks during busy periods. We will always aim to deliver your photos to you as soon as possible, so please be patient while we process your photographs - we want to deliver the very best images we can!

  • What is your approach to retouching?

Our approach to retouching is to keep things as natural as possible – on your wedding day you should look like the best version of yourself – but you should still look like you! So we will remove those things that are not meant to be there – like removing that spot on your face that appeared the day before your wedding! – but we won’t be changing the way you look – you’re beautiful as you are!

  • Does your price include retouching?

We spend many hours after your wedding, working on your images to make sure they look their absolute best. All your images will be professionally edited, and retouched where necessary. Editing is not the same as retouching – editing is done to ‘develop’ a photo (still needed for digital images as professional photographers use a file format called ‘raw’), and for colour grading. Retouching goes a step further, by altering an image in some way, such as removing blemishes or distracting elements from an image. All editing is included in our price, as are colour and black & white versions of your photos. We will also do basic retouching but if you request something very specific then there may be an additional charge depending on the complexity of the task.

  • How many images will be in our album?

This depends on which of our Collections you’ve chosen as our album sizes are based on whether we’re with you for all or part of your day. There is a limit to how many images we can physically fit into one album, but to give you an idea, a Signature Collection album will typically include around 100-120 images. Some couples love their photos so much that they find it difficult to limit the number of images they select, and choose to purchase an additional album!

General

  • Are you insured?

Absolutely! Many wedding venues, particularly historic ones, will mandate that your suppliers have Public Liability Insurance and sometimes ask to see a supplier’s insurance certificate. We hold Public Liability Insurance of £2million.

  • There are some specific things we'd like to try - is that ok?

If you've got particular ideas you want to try we'd love to make that happen! We are both very creative, fun people and being able to work with you on ideas is what brings our work to life. So, if you have ideas, please don't be afraid to share them with us! You can chat these through, email your ideas, or share your pinterest board with us.
