Despite some lingering coronavirus restrictions, Grace & Matt decided to go ahead as planned with their Disney-themed wedding, with limited numbers. But the beautiful June weather meant that the gorgeous grounds of Bunny Hill could be enjoyed to their fullest and everyone had a great time making the most of the early summer sunshine.

THE MORNING

While Matt and his groomsmen started their day at the nearby Cave Castle hotel, Grace got ready with her bridal party in Bunny Hill’s fabulous bridal suite. The girls enjoyed a really relaxed morning, and Grace was super calm!

Grace had chosen an amazing Mori Lee wedding gown, and looked an absolutely stunning modern-day princess. The talented bride had also made her own artificial flower bouquets which were so pretty.

The father of the bride was so emotional seeing his girl for the first time in her dress – it was a really beautiful moment. Before we all knew it, the morning had flown by – as they so often do! – and it was time for the ceremony.

THE CEREMONY

To start the ceremony in style, the bride and groom’s friend took on the job of ‘flower man’, donning a pink tutu and skipping down the aisle with throwing petals! Definitely a fun moment and it fitted the vibe of the day perfectly.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions of the local authority, Matt & Grace had to be seated for the duration of their ceremony, and as photographers we also had to stay seated and were not permitted to move at all. But it was a lovely heartfelt ceremony and Matt & Grace just looked so happy to become Mr & Mrs. The ups and downs of planning a wedding during the pandemic have been a rollercoaster for so many couples, and the joy and relief of making it to the wedding day and it happening has been so tangible this year.

THE AFTERNOON

With the sun shining and the champagne poured, it was time to relax and enjoy the drinks reception on Bunny Hill’s patio and a few guests had fun with the zip wire.

Bunny Hill’s lovely Labrador, Asha, photobombed the bridal party photos – much to everyone’s delight! She also had a great time joining in the fun with the zip wire!

We borrowed Grace & Matt for a few portraits before the wedding breakfast, taking them off to some of the lovely private spots that Bunny Hill offers, including the gorgeous tree avenue.

THE EVENING

After dinner, speeches and cake cutting, everyone headed outside (no indoor dancing!) for the first dance – thankfully it was a beautiful evening, so perfect for the occasion. The fire tables were lit, and everyone chilled out on the patio with drinks and pizza.

If time allows, the long June evenings are the perfect opportunity for us to make the most of gorgeous sunsets at this time of year, and we took Grace & Matt for a little sunset portrait session to round out the day. We were blessed with beautiful golden light across the fields as the sun went down.

It is always worth the effort to fit in a short evening portrait session – this time of day regularly produces some of the best (and most relaxed!) photos of all.

We had such a fun day with Grace & Matt – all the little personal details that they chose, and the things that Grace had handmade herself made it their perfect day. It was wonderful that the fine weather meant that the lingering restrictions didn’t impact greatly (apart from their reduced guest list of course), but meant that everyone could enjoy the day together in Bunny Hill’s lovely surroundings. Thank you for having us, guys! xx
