JOY & CHRIS NEVER STOPPED SMILING FROM START TO FINISH DURING THEIR BEAUTIFUL DAY.

HOLFORD ESTATE, CHESHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

A romantic church ceremony, beautiful green and white floral styling, ouzo for the toasts and a dash of summer rain - Joy and Chris’s wedding day was a dream to photograph!

THE MORNING

From the outset there was such a relaxed vibe to this day - in our experience that makes for the best kind of wedding day! The bride’s party were getting ready at Holford Estate’s gorgeous Mill House, whilst the groom’s party were round the corner at the Golden Pheasant for their morning prep.

Joy had her hair styled in a tousled half-up do with a few sprigs of gypsophila to add the pretty finishing touches.

The wedding car arrived early to take the groom’s party to the church before returning to drive the bridal party to Wilmslow for the ceremony. Meanwhile, it was time for Joy to get into her beautiful Rebecca Ingram gown - so elegant and sophisticated.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Chris and his groomsmen took time to meet and greet guests and share a celebratory beer.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony took place at St John’s, Lindow, near Wilmslow. The church was beautifully adorned with florals by The Flower House Cheshire.

THE AFTERNOON

Arriving at Holford Estate with the top-down in style, the wedding car waited for guests to pass and park so that we could capture the bride and groom’s arrival down Holford’s driveway without other cars behind - it was a photo that Joy & Chris particularly wanted to capture, and created some gorgeous photos.

After the family formals and a little break for the newlyweds to spend time with their guests, we spent a few minutes in and around Holford’s stunning gardens for bride and groom portraits - there are so many beautiful options here at Holford Estate! The rain that had been threatening all afternoon made an appearance, but Joy & Chris totally embraced it - the absolute best attitude to go with if you get rain on your wedding day.

The reception room looked absolutely stunning, set up in long-table configuration and dressed with green, cream and white colour scheme.

After dinner, we stole away the happy couple for a few minutes to grab some evening portraits in the last light of the day. Holford’s tree-lined driveway creates a lovely aspect and after a few shots here, we walked (or in Joy’s case got a piggyback!) to the nearby fields. The wheat had been cut already but the tall corn created a great backdrop for a few portraits.

THE EVENING

After dinner, speeches and cake cutting, it was time for the dancing – Joy & Chris chose Coldplay & Chainsmokers’ ‘Something Just Like This’ for their first dance - it’s one of our favourite first dance songs, great lyrics and also great to move to!

Guests were treated to a live set by Gillan Edgar Music, who really got the dancefloor going!

Joy & Christopher’s wedding day was definitely one of the highlights of the year for us - the vibe was just fantastic: relaxed yet so much fun - they just didn’t stop smiling all day - even when it rained. Thanks so much for having us, guys! xx
