BECKY & MORGAN'S TISSINGTON HALL WEDDING
A SUNNY AUTUMN DAY WAS PERFECT FOR BECKY & MORGAN'S TISSINGTON WEDDING.
Tissington Hall, DerbysHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
The pretty village of Tissington in Derbyshire was the perfect setting for this autumn wedding. A ceremony in the 12th century St Mary’s Church, and a beautiful intimate reception in Tissington Hall’s carriage house - we love photographing here and we absolutely loved capturing Becky & Morgan’s day…
THE MORNING
Tissington village is somewhere we regularly visit, even when we’re not photographing weddings there. It’s in our native Peak District and has such charm. Becky & Morgan’s wedding day, in late September, dawned beautifully clear and warm - a perfect autumn day!
Becky chose to get ready in Tissington Hall’s bridal rooms with her bridesmaids. It’s a lovely space, full of the Tissington character and charm.
Louise and Georgia from Alla Moda Bridal were the fab duo covering bridal hair and makeup. Becky had her hair styled in lovely curls and pinned with pearls.
Morgan and his groomsmen got ready on the other side of the carriage house in the groom’s area. It’s a cosy space styled with vintage accessories such as aged silvered mirrors and wood panelling.
While the guys headed out to start greeting guests, it was time for Becky to put on her Essense of Australia gown and to dress the flower girls. Tissington’s wedding coordinator, Cat, was on hand to help, with a few words of encouragement from mum!
As Morgan waited at the church for his bride-to-be, Becky began the walk over to St Mary’s Church in the sunshine.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Tissington village, which is directly across the road from Tissington Hall. The pretty church dates from the 12th century.
THE AFTERNOON
The warm autumn sunshine meant that the afternoon reception could take place on the terrace at the rear of the hall. Everyone enjoyed the champagne and beautiful gardens.
After the family formals and a little break for the newlyweds to spend time with their guests, we spent a few minutes in and around Tissington’s stunning gardens for bride and groom portraits - there are so many beautiful options here at Tissington Hall. Becky & Morgan had told us (as many couples do!) that they weren’t particularly comfortable with having photos taken, but after easing them in gently, we think they did absolutely fabulously! We only had a few short minutes before the wedding breakfast, so all these portraits were done in around 10-15 minutes.
The reception room looked absolutely stunning, set up in rounds with rustic centrepieces. Talented bride Becky made the wedding favours, gorgeously decorated cookies for each guest.
After dinner, we stole away the happy couple for a few minutes to grab some evening portraits in the last light of the day. The mounting steps of the old carriage house, with its soft lighting, were the perfect spot for a few evening portraits.
THE EVENING
After dinner, speeches and cake cutting, the cosy dancefloor of the carriage house was lit up for the disco…
We absolutely loved this beautiful autumn day with Becky & Morgan - they were such a great couple to be around, and their family and friends were just lovely. The wedding team at Tissington are also amazing and can’t do enough to help, whether you’re the couple, guests or suppliers and it’s a great atmosphere. Thanks so much for having us, guys! xx
