HELENA & DAVE'S STUNNING AUTUMN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
Helena & Dave wanted an autumn photoshoot that captured them surrounded by beautiful autumn colours. Helena & Dave didn’t know where they wanted to have their pre-wedding shoot but they knew exactly when they wanted it – with autumn being their favourite time of year, they wanted an autumn photoshoot that captured them surrounded by beautiful autumn colours.
The perfect autumn engagement shoot starts with the perfect autumn colours and location. In the run-up to Helena & Dave’s shoot, we’d been keeping a close eye on the changing season – sometimes, to get the best out of your pre-wedding shoot requires a little flexibility in terms of planning and timing. And in autumn those perfect colours come at slightly different times each year.
As keen hikers, our experience and knowledge of the countryside and great locations meant we knew just where to take them to maximise our chances of getting those fabulous backdrops and colours. On the first date we’d arranged together, the weather was looking awful. Helena & Dave were happy to be flexible, so we scheduled another date and it was second time lucky. So - amazing location? Check. Beautiful autumn colours – check!! Good weather – yay!
On the day of their shoot we took Helena & Dave to three different locations, but the two images above were taken by the side of the road - the low clouds drifting through the valley below looked so amazing we pulled over the car for a few spontaneous photos in between! These ended up being among our favourite shots of the day, proving that deviating from the plan is definitely sometimes worth it!
Helena & Dave were brilliant and approached their shoot with the best attitude – open minded and ready to give it a go, despite being a little apprehensive about being photographed.
They’d obviously taken care to think about the colours they wore too, and their choices worked perfectly with the autumnal tones.
We had a wonderful day with Helena & Dave, rounded off with a hot chocolate and a natter to warm up our chilly hands!
